“This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
God kept his promise of a Savior who would be born in Bethlehem. Preparation means to “get ready”. Help us to be ready to welcome you, O God! When I think about this gift to the people on Christmas from God. I have to think… God didn’t send a police officer or judge. Someone to provide order and give judgment. He didn’t give us a leader of money and wealth. He gave us something much more. He provided us with a Savior. He know that we needed saving. We needed a Savior!
I have always had the fear of being out in the middle of the sea in a boat ( now I love boats don’t get me wrong) and the boat starts to sink water comes rushing in. If you ever have seen the movie “The Shack” based off the best seller book by William P. Young. Mac the main star of the film is in a boat on the lake. Water starts to come pouring in. Everything he tries to do he can’t stop the water from coming in. He is about to go down. Fear comes pouring into his life. The past, the hurt, the pain. Just then when he thinks there is no way out, but he hears a voice call his name. “Mac, Mac I have you!” It’s Jesus, his savior. Watch this clip from the movie:
We have heard it so many times:
“For God so loved… the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Papa, in the middle of the storm I am setting my hope on You. You fight for me and You are greater than all my enemies. Nothing I face today is more powerful than You. You are the solid ground beneath my feet. my Savior! Thank You for surrounding those who surround me. Give me peace in the presence of my enemies, knowing that You see me and defend me in Your love. Amen.
