Happy Chinese New Year! One of my favorite things each year is the Chinese New Year. Mostly due to my years of teaching online in Beijing China. My students always loved sharing photos and their holiday traditions with me. It was such a special time.
The other day I was cleaning out one of my cabinets and ran across one of my favorite Bibles that I used in College. One that was passed down to me by a Grad student when I attended a weekend visit when I was first looking at Bible Colleges. Inside it, I put a renminbi banknote (Currency in China, like the US Dollar Bill) It was given to me by a missionary friend who lived there. It was fun finding it again and remembering good memories. Anyway, this year is the year of the Rabbit. In Chinese, the Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in their culture. They call this year the year of “HOPE”. I am not one to follow horoscopes or anything but man how wonderful it would be for 2023 to be a year of Hope and Peace. Such a great reminde of Proverbs 23:18. Let’s claim this to be the year of Hope and Peace! Lord knows my family needs it.
“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”-Proverbs 23:18
